Sin City
This movie shocked me, in the right way. I have no idea why I haven’t been around to see this movie before. I’ve heard about it for ever. Strange enough I had never seen a trailer for it. If only I knew… I would of jumped on this movie a long time ago. It’s bloody and the visual style is stunning. I’ve mentioned more then once, that the way a movie looks is at the heart of the movie, but when you combine it with a great story, compelling characters and daring screenplay you get a movie that I would give 9 out of 10. The story takes place in BASIN CITY, not sure if it is in current time because there is a slight oldish look. Not because most of the movie is black and white but mostly because of how the guns and cars look. I’ll have to stress the point that this movie is R rated. The story revolves around three leading male characters that go through hell of trouble to save women. The movie has a strange style because you get the feeling you’re watching a bunch of episodes that have been pieced together. The overall effect is great and I’ve heard there is a Sin City 2 in the works. I’ve you are like I was a few days ago, and have not seen this movie yet. I strongly suggest you head out and rent it. If you can stomach graphic violence of the Kill Bill style you’ll have a great time watching Sin City.
