Troy, Hidalgo & Big Fish

This post is similar to other imports I made from my old Rottentomatoes account. Back then I used to make really short reviews and my syntax was really bad (still is). Thanks to the latests updates in Wordpress editor I can copy & paste these posts for reference.

Trojan Horse (Troy)
CURRENT RATINGS:
7/10 Movie: Troy (2004)

How do we say that again, two thumbs up. This movie is good, the begining is boring and you get to have Achilles quite fast. But you get over it because of the actions scene, the play of actors and the strengh of this movie. Don’t trust critics that destroy that movie, it’s worth seeing, and very entertaining.

Wild Horses in Hidalgo!
CURRENT RATINGS:
8/10 Movie: Hidalgo (2004)

Well, this movie was special. At the sight of the first scenes you are sure, it’s going to be a great movie. But when the movie is done, you just say, it was a quite good movie. It is a great adventure movie, but with some “clichés” we still can enjoy the movie. The play of actors is interesting and comic relief helps go trought this 2 hour movie.

Still there are some bad in the movie. Sometimes, we lose track of the story, and there are some serious, discrimination issues in the movie, but when you remember we are in 1890 you understand they just wanted to depict how hard it was at the time. Bottom line, the movie is worth seeing, because it is entertaining, funny, has lot’s of breath taking scenes, and you can see trought some obvious mistakes, a deep sense of spirituality. It’s a fight for those who are not recocgnised that will win.

I caught a “Big Fish”!
CURRENT RATINGS:
8/10 Movie: Big Fish (2003)
9/10 Celeb: Ewan McGregor

Well, can’t say I was dissapointed, and can’t say I wasn’t satified. This movie is quite “different”, still I think it gives a moderate entertainment.

The problem is this movie should of never hit the big screen, but the small-tv-screen only. I believe it’s a good movie to see on video, so you can take a break of this 2 hour movie that sometimes has blanks-lengths that never end. But in some other cases you’ll find yourself enjoying what you see. So I guess you’d have to see the movie to make your mind. But I can say it’s worth seeing.
The story is deep and covers very important issues of life, even if you’re young you get something from the movie. Besides, actors are doing a great job in this movie!
